Santa Lucia White is 100% Istrian Malvasia from a single vineyard. If regular Malvasia is their most known wine, then Santa Lucia is the wine where they are determined to show the sheer potential of their beloved Istrian treasure – Malvasia grape – its heights, its beauty. A wine with potential for aging for at least a decade. In 2016 they changed the style, steering towards a fresher, leaner style. It shows a bright, pale golden color. It is quite pronounced on the nose, still youthful with a nicely interlaced scent of ripe and dried apricots, lime, grapefruit. Dry on the palate, medium-bodied with moderate levels of acidity, but plenty of freshness. It possesses a salty, intense fruit character that ends in a long aftertaste. What we really like about this one is the tension, nervousness which constantly interacts with the palate and keeps your senses perpetually busy.
Fish with creamy sauces, grilled Saint-Jacques, mushroom risotto, pasta with rich sauces, and many other, mainly warm dishes. Serving temperature 12 °C.
Their story began in 1904, with ancestors who had barely a few acres of vineyards. Today, Kozlović winery is one of the best known and valued wineries, producing top quality and indigenous wines of Istria.
