Santa Lucia Cuvée Noir is Kozlović »super Istrian«, produced from local (Teran) and international (Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon) grapes growing in Santa Lucia vineyard. A formula for success.
The color is very deep ruby red, quite an expected feature from a Cabernet and Teran blend.
It is intense on the nose, opulent, showing plenty of ripeness and warm climate black and red fruits, far from any over-ripeness or jammy notes.
Quite spicy, with a touch of roasted coffee beans, oak, and liquorice.
It is dry on the palate, with a good level of acidities, full-bodied, with a lovely velvety texture and plenty of ripe grippy tannins.
Intense and fierce, concentrated and multidimensional showing the clear quality of Bordeaux varieties.
Nicely crafted and sophisticated. It seems like in 2015 Santa Lucia red has made another step forward.
This one is ready to drink already but will improve as it is still young. Drink from 2020- 2032.
No brainer with steaks, game, and mature hard cheeses. Serving temperature 18°C.
