Nebo Peated Single Malt Whiskey Flight #2 is a tribute to Scottish tradition and the legendary Islay style, yet expressed through Nebo distillery’s distinctive authorial approach. This whiskey is made from carefully selected barley imported from Belgium and Scotland, featuring a unique combination of three malt types: peat-smoked malt, two-row base malt, and special Belgian specialty malts, whose exact composition remains our little secret.
The result is an exceptionally layered and powerful whiskey in which intense peat smoke harmoniously intertwines with a rich malt foundation and spicy nuances.
The art of maturation in three acts
The character of this whiskey is further shaped by a complex maturation process in three types of oak barrels:
• New Croatian oak barrels (Quercus robur) from the Golub cooperage provide structure, tannins, and deep woody notes.
• American oak barrels that previously held smoked bourbon bring sweetness, vanilla, and smoky warmth.
• More than 30-year-old Islay barrels add authentic maritime and smoky tones of classic Scottish whisky.
This multi-layered approach creates a whiskey of exceptional depth, complexity, and a long, smoky finish.
