Prović Naron—Latin for Neretva—is a limited Chardonnay of just 1,000 bottles. Grapes are selected in the vineyard and harvested slightly earlier than for the regular Chardonnay. Fermentation takes place in 225- and 500-liter oak barrels, with lees stirring for up to 12 months. A very complex wine with great ageing potential, aromas of yellow apple and nuts, notes of vanilla, and flavors of ripe lemon juice. Very creamy, showing light brioche tones with a long finish. Serve at no less than 10 °C to reveal all aromas. Pairs brilliantly with smoked mussels, spit-roasted eel, cashew cream, white meats with creamy sauces, and lamb on the spit.
Naron 2022 is an elegant, mature interpretation of Chardonnay with emphasis on the Neretva terroir. Ageing in a mix of small and medium oak gives layers and complexity; time on fine lees adds silky texture and notes of brioche, vanilla, and nuts. On the nose: yellow apple, lemon, and a light smokiness; on the palate: rich, creamy, and persistent.
Perfect with smoked mussels, white meats with creamy sauces, lamb, and spit-roasted eel. Thanks to its structure and freshness, Naron 2022 has excellent long-term ageing potential, developing honey, vanilla, and roasted hazelnut notes over time.
