Riesling 2022 – the king of white wines, Rhine Riesling is a jewel among grape varieties. It has a rich history, originating from Germany and France. Our winery’s Riesling originates from the Plešivica area, where it grows in the Gorička location. The grapes are picked and selected by hand, and after pressing, they go to controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks, which allows us to closely monitor and manage the temperature and conditions for optimal yeast activity. After fermentation, our Riesling is poured into large old wooden barrels, where it ages for a year. During the first three months of aging, the wine is delicately mixed on fine lees. This technique enriches the texture of the wine and gives it subtle complexity, resulting in a Riesling that is both elegant and expressive of its terroir. Golden yellow, lively color, greenish reflections, medium coloration with lots of wine-like, slow tears. A clean, fruity-floral fragrance of fine quality and delicate aromatic intensity, and you will be delighted by the smell of kerosene in traces. The white flower of lily and spring bell, the fruitiness of apple and vineyard peach. Wonderful freshness, which is beautifully accompanied by the extract and the persistence of the taste, which repeats the fruit that rose aromatically from the glass. Medium, moderate flavor intensity. A pleasant, fine marl minerality on the tongue that is even salty-tasting, leaves a refreshingly fresh sensation of lightness. According to the development level of excellent readiness, it will mature completely in approximately 4 to 5 years, and with a very long lifespan of at least 15 to 20 years, and possibly more. The Riesling glass is its home, and it will be wonderful at 10 to 12°C. Pair it with fresh shellfish, not thermally processed, with white fish ceviche and in general foods with a light body, lower aromatic intensity, slightly acidified without sweetness from carbohydrates or glycogen.
